Migrated a Sketch-based design system to Figma to streamline product output and process.
Overview
Qwil is a payment platform for self-employed workers. While supporting the product team, I led the initiative to migrate and up-level the design system from sketch to figma. Upon recreating the entire component library, all product flows were rebuilt using updated styles. Components, users flows, and global styles were synced with Zeplin for documentation and seamless hand-off.
Migrating a system
Qwil's design team pivoted the using Figma as their primary design tool. This required a migration of existing Sketch content and overhaul of the current design system. New styles were leveraged for product flows, developer documentation and marketing website pages.
Product & Process
Responsive design was a top priority while rebuilding flows. Previously desktop-only designs were expanded to account for other screen sizes. Retooling to integrate updated components revealed friction points in the product design to development process. A new process was defined for cross-functional team contribution.
